
Dr. V Sivadasan MP said that libraries should become the center of local institutions and rural activities and libraries should be linked with their activities.
He was inaugurating a lecture on “The Present of Reading” at the Karunagapally Grand Muscut Hall ahead of the Indian Library Congress. Libraries need to be renovated so that every section of the society can enter. Sivadasan said that efforts are being made to raise discussions and debates about this through the Library Congress being held in Kannur from January 1 to 3.
Kendra Sahithya Academy award winner Subhash Chandran delivered the keynote address. CR Mahesh MLA received the Library Congress logo from Dr. V Sivdasan. Sujith Vijayan Pillai MLA and Municipal Chairman Kottayil Raju were the chief guests. Taluk Library Council President PV Sivan presided the event. Secretary V. Vijayakumar welcomed all. K.G Ajith Kumar, VP Jayaprakash Menon, P.K Gopalakrishnan, A Pradeep and M Suresh Kumar spoke.
